Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens

WWE have officially announced that Kevin Owens sustained injuries in the post-match attack by Bobby Lashley on last night's Raw - although there's every chance that this could be part of the storyline regarding Lashley's heel turn.

The statement via WWE.com reads:

'Kevin Owens sustained injuries to both knees when Bobby Lashley viciously wrapped Owens' legs around a turnbuckle after their match, WWE.com can confirm'

Owens will reportedly undergo evaluation today to determine the extent of his injuries.

Many online are already speculating that the injury is part of his ongoing feud with Bobby Lashley, which seemed to feature a double turn last night. Urged on by new manager Lio Rush, Lashley returned to the ring after defeating Owens last night, attacking both of his opponent's legs.

The match came days after Owens teamed with Elias to take on Lashley and John Cena in Melbourne, Australia - a bout in which there were no hints of a turn from either man.

On Raw, however, it seems as though Lashley is now a fully-fledged heel - although any change to Owens' persona is so far unknown. It did seem, however, as though the aim of the post-match attack was to generate heat for Lashley, as well as sympathy for the former Universal Champion.

Lashley had been a babyface since returning to WWE the night after WrestleMania 34, while Owens has never truly been considered a face despite considerable fan support throughout his WWE tenure - particularly his early main roster feud with John Cena. The feud originally came about when Owens' ally Sami Zayn suffered a legitimate injury during his rivalry with Lashley.
