This week's Monday Night Raw has led to two new matches being announced for WWE Evolution - the company's first ever all-women's special event - on October 28th.

First, both Nikki and Brie Bella turned heel after helping Ronda Rousey to victory over the Riott Squad. As the trio celebrated, the twins turned on the Raw Women's Champion and beat her down, before it was announced that Nikki would be challenging for the title at Evolution.

The pair have enjoyed success as heels in the past, particularly Nikki, who became the longest-reigning Divas Champion as a villain.

Later on Raw, Trish Stratus was confronted by her Evolution opponent Alexa Bliss, who was accompanied by Mickie James. Trish suggested that maybe a tag match would be more appropriate for the event, before Lita made a shock appearance to help her fellow Hall of Famer chase the heels away.

It has since been officially confirmed that the originally-scheduled matches of Stratus vs. Bliss and James vs. Lita have been merged into a tag match.

The rest of the card is as follows, for the time being:

NXT Women's Championship: Kairi Sane (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

2018 Mae Young Classic finals

There will also be a WWE SmackDown Women's Championship defence (likely featuring current champion Becky Lynch) and a match to determine the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion.

WWE Evolution takes place on October 28th at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. It will be followed by WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
