WWE have announced a landmark 50-man Royal Rumble match, set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 27th.

Already branded the 'Greatest Royal Rumble', the match will take place at King Abdullah Sports City and feature many top WWE Superstars. Already confirmed for the event are John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Braun Strowman, the New Day, and Bray Wyatt.

The official press release states:

'Ticket and broadcast information will be available in the coming weeks. This event is part of a 10-year strategic multiplatform partnership in support of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s social and economic reform program.'

There is no word yet on whether the event will be available on the WWE Network.

The Rumble match will eclipse the previous largest Royal Rumble, the 40-man edition in January 2011, which was won by Alberto Del Rio.

This announcement comes on the heels of Vince McMahon and Triple H's recent trip to Saudi Arabia, where they were reportedly finalising a deal for WWE to run shows in the Middle Eastern nation.

This year's Royal Rumble pay per view received critical acclaim, as both the men's and first ever women's Rumble matches went over well. Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka were the respective winners, earning themselves title shots at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

It's unclear at this stage whether the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' will result in a similar prize for the winner, or whether it will be a stand-alone event with no major ties to ongoing storylines.
