The Warner Media Group (parent company of Turner Sports) is reportedly expected to introduce All Elite Wrestling as part of their presentation to advertisers next month, when the shows on the fall schedule are announced to potential sponsors, per
The Fight Oracle.
The source adds that Turner/Warner Media "upfronts" are scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, which is when one assumes the announcement would be made.
Fight Oracle also adds that AEW's TV show is expected to debut on Tuesday nights the same week that WWE SmackDown Live moves to FOX on Fridays. If true, this would mean that AEW's program debuts on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
Warner Media's Turner Sports division is responsible for sports content on networks such as TNT, TBS, and TruTV. The former duo are more sports-oriented than TruTV, airing relevant games and playoff series for the NBA (TNT), Major League Baseball (TBS), and college basketball's March Madness (both).
Turner Sports has been out of the wrestling game since 2001, when then-Turner programming head Jamie Kellner, citing change in overall philosophy, cancelled WCW Monday Nitro and Thunder, effective that March.
Days ago,
Jim Ross claimedthat AEW had a signed on with a recognizable cable television network, and that October was targeted for the launch.
