Dakota Kai Betrays Bayley On WWE SmackDown

In recent weeks, it has seemed as though Bayley has had an ally on her side as she battled the Damage CTRL faction of WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky, Asuka, and Kairi Sane. Dakota Kai, who was an original member of Damage CTRL alongside Bayley, looked to have helped her fend off the heels a few weeks back. Last week on SmackDown, Kai also claimed that she’d been the victim of an attack by Damage CTRL too.

Bayley decided to trust Kai, and a tag team match was set for last night’s SmackDown which would mark Kai’s first match since her ACL tear all the way back in May of last year. The pair took on Asuka & Kairi Sane, who dominated a portion of the match, taking down Bayley together. Bayley finally managed to produce a comeback, crawling to her corner to make the tag. When she jumped up to tag in her partner, Kai dropped down from the apron, turning her back on Bayley.

After a brief and incensed flurry, the numbers game became too much for Bayley, who was then beaten down by Damage CTRL, now once again including Kai. This stacks more odds against Bayley as she challenges Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.
