AJ Styles Reveals Details Of Injury Sustained At WWE WrestleMania 35
A Superplex gone wrong in the match with Randy Orton...
Apr 11, 2019
On Sunday at WWE WrestleMania 35, AJ Styles defeated Randy Orton in a singles match that an unfortunate portion of the crowd didn't see too much of due to a wayward light.
However, during the course of the bout, former WWE Champion Styles picked up an injury that reportedly forced him to miss this week's SmackDown Live.
The Phenomenal One himself has spoken about the injury during a
Mixer streamwhile he was playing Player Unknown’s Battleground.
AJ noted that he was indeed sent home following WrestleMania 35 and it was the injury that ruled him out of SmackDown and a couple of WrestleMania Axxess appearances.
Styles also quashed all rumour and innuendo that suggested he picked up the knock while doing a Phenomenal Forearm from the ring to the floor, instead revealing he was injured during a Superplex that went slightly wrong.
While landing on the mat, Styles noted that the left side of his body made contact slightly before the right side, this caused his hips to be out of position and resulted in swelling around his lower back.
Thankfully - even though he couldn't walk the next day - Styles revealed all x-rays came back with positive news and he should be fine to return to action soon.
PWInsider
are also running a story claiming Styles didn't break any bones at 'Mania on Sunday, while they haven't been able to put a timeframe on his return either.
