Zelina Vega: Vince McMahon Personally Apologised After WWE SmackDown September 11 Tribute Match Was Cut

Zelina Vega has revealed that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon personally apologised to her after her planned match on the WWE SmackDown September 11 tribute show had to be scrapped.
Vega's father tragically lost his life in the 9/11 attacks and she was scheduled to compete on the September 10 2021 show, complete with an outfit in tribute.
However, Vega's tag team match with Carmella versus Liv Morgan and Toni Storm ended up being pulled from the show, something which drew significant criticism from fans.
Speaking about the decision, Vega admits she was disappointed but knows it wasn't personal against her, noting that McMahon personally spoke to her and apologised for the time cuts which resulted in the match not taking place.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, she said: "When it got cut, Vince called me and apologized because he wanted to make sure that I knew, 'Listen, this wasn’t done to you personally or anything, it was literally just this (the time), I had to make that call and I’m so sorry.'
"And people don’t know that side either. To have a boss to care enough to call you and go 'Look, I’m sorry', that’s important."
