Raw Superstar and former Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder has announced that he is suffering from a knee injury.

As mentioned on his personal Twitter account, Ryder's injury appears to have taken place during a dark match with Mike Bennett at a Main Event show.

Ryder was recently traded to Raw as part of the Superstar Shake-up. He spent much of his time on SmackDown as one half of the Hype Bros, a tag team alongside Mojo Rawley. However, the pair split when Rawley attacked Ryder on an episode of SmackDown in November 2017, leading to a match at Clash of Champions (which Mojo won).

Many have theorised that the feud is not yet finished, as the pair have clashed several times since the apparent blowoff. They competed in the first round of the US Championship Tournament (ultimately won by Bobby Roode), a match which again saw Ryder emerge the loser.

They also clashed recently at WrestleMania 34, both taking part in the pre-show Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Again, Rawley gained the upper hand, eliminating Ryder from the bout.

It is worth mentioning that Mojo has also been drafted to Raw alongside his former tag partner, although any plans for another clash between the pair will have to be put on hold while Ryder recovers.

Zack has mentioned that he is not flying out to Saudi Arabia for Friday's Greatest Royal Rumble event, but is instead returning to Orlando to undergo an MRI scan.

Hopefully he isn't sidelined for too long.
