After eight months on the sidelines, YOH returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier today during the finals of the New Japan Cup 2021.

He made his way to the ring to open the show and told the fans at Xebio Arena Sendai that he will be returning to the ring at Sakura Genesis on April 4. YOH will immediately reunite with Roppongi 3K tag team partner SHO and he challenged El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru to an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match at the Easter Sunday show.

YOH has been on the shelf since he suffered a torn ACL in June 2020. Roppongi 3K were IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions at the time and SHO vacated the belts a couple of months later.

El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru won a tournament shortly after to capture the vacated title and held the gold for 134 days before dropping it to El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori during the Road To New Beginning tour. It didn't take long for Suzuki-gun to reclaim the championship, though, and they defeated Bullet Club during the Road To Castle Attack tour.
