WWE are set to extend the length of their pay per views, according to Mike Johnson of

PWInsider

.

Pay per views are expected to extend to four hours, having previously lasted around three, starting with Money in the Bank on June 17.

'WWE reached out to international broadcast partners, including SkyTV and InDemand PPV to inform them that as of the 6/17 Money in the Bank PPV, their PPV events will kick off at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific (which means a Kickoff Show at 6 PM) and that the PPVs could run as long as four hours.'

PWInsider have also reported that 'cornerstone' events such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam could run even longer.

There is already online speculation that this change could be due to the recent switch to co-branded pay per views, allowing for more Superstars to make it onto the show despite less space being afforded to either brand.

The first PPV of the new co-branded era was Backlash on May 6th, although it was received very negatively by fans and critics alike.

The remaining confirmed PPV schedule for the rest of 2018 is as follows:

Money in the Bank - June 17

Extreme Rules - July 15

SummerSlam - August 19

Hell in a Cell - September 16

TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs - October 21

Survivor Series - November 18

Clash of Champions - December 16

Again, all will be co-branded events - although SummerSlam and Survivor Series presumably would have been anyway. There were also reports that Money in the Bank was set to join the traditional 'big 4' shows in terms of length and co-branded status, but now that all pay per views are co-branded once more (and are all shifting to four hours) this may well have been scrapped.
