Even though the show itself turned out to be one of the better pay-per-views WWE have put on so far in 2019, Stomping Grounds made a lot of headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Most of those headlines had to do with the attendance at the event inside the Tacoma Dome, where over half the seating inside the arena was covered in tarping. It's said there were roughly 4500 fans who paid for tickets inside the arena.

Those over at

Wrestling Observer Radio

have now revealed that Stomping Grounds drew the lowest pay-per-view buys in the WWE Network era, only getting purchased around 9800 times in the United States alone.

According to

WOR

, current day PPVs do around 15,000-16,000 buys. WrestleMania 35 was a massive exception to this rule, raking in 100,000 buys on top of those who watched the event on the WWE Network.

The next lowest total for WWE pay-per-view buys in the United States is said to be Super ShowDown 2019 from Saudi Arabia which did around 11,000 buys.

For those keeping score, the recent AEW Double Or Nothing show is said to have done 98,000 buys, although they don't have a streaming service like the WWE Network.
