WWE SmackDown Viewership Rises Over 2 Million

After two straight weeks of decline, WWE SmackDown's overnight viewership soared past two million viewers for the August 6 broadcast, as SummerSlam draws near.

Per Spoiler TV, SmackDown averaged 2,047,000 viewers, up 138,000 (seven percent) from last week's overnight viewership of 1,909,000.

Hour one drew 2,043,000 viewers, while hour two rose to 2,050,000.

In 18-49, SmackDown averaged a .55, thanks to a .60 rating in the second hour. In most weeks, SmackDown has generally finished with a .50 rating, hitting that number in each of the two hours.

For the third straight week, SmackDown finished behind NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympics in both viewership and demo. The 9 pm coverage of the games averaged a little over 10 million viewers, with a 2.1 demo rating. Across all primetime network shows, SmackDown finished behind only the Olympic Games in 18-49.
