WWE SmackDown On Fox Premiere Comes Close To Four Million Viewers

A special appearance from The Rock, Brock Lesnar's first free TV match in over 15 years, and the heavy hype that went into WWE SmackDown's premiere on The Fox Network led to some highly-favorable numbers for the first outing.
According to
Showbuzz Daily, the SmackDown premiere did an average of 3.869 million viewers. This makes it the most watched weekly WWE program since the post-WrestleMania Raw in 2018, which pulled in 3.921 million viewers.
The FOX premiere came close to doubling the viewership of the final USA Network version of the show, which only scored 2.099 million viewers on Tuesday, September 24.
The viewership remained mostly consistent between the two hours, with hour one doing 3.92 million viewers (1.4 rating in 18 to 49 demo) and hour two good for 3.818 million viewers (1.3 rating in 18 to 49).
The second SmackDown on FOX episode, coming off of Sunday's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, will take place in Las Vegas, and features the early portion of the 2019 Draft. Said Draft will conclude on the October 14 edition of Raw in Denver.
