WWE's Reaction To Joe Tessitore's Raw Debut

Following much anticipation, Joe Tessitore began full-time with WWE on the September 2 episode of Monday Night Raw as he was on play-by-play, while Wade Barrett served as the colour commentator.

With it being his first night on the job, Tessitore did have a few mistakes, notably getting Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane mixed up, while he also suddenly believed Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley were previously a part of the Hurt Business, not Judgment Day. Overall, though, Tessitore's first appearance was praised by fans and his hiccups were put down to it being his first night.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that WWE knew there would be growing pains during Tessitore's transition to WWE TV but the company was satisfied with his September 2 debut and thought he sounded great while on the air.

Joe Tessitore will remain a part of Monday Night Raw until the end of the year, at which point it has been reported that he will move to Friday Night SmackDown. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will be the Raw commentary team when the show moves to Netflix in the new year.
