WWE won't be vacating the Women's Tag Team Championships.

It was suggested by Adam Pearce on the August 14 edition of Monday Night Raw that Chelsea Green vacate the belts due to Sonya Deville's ACL tear, but Green insisted she would call HR if he made her do so, instead stating she would hold auditions to find a new tag team partner. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance were the first talents to appear as they appealed for a title shot, only to be laid out by the returning Piper Niven.

The former Doudrop then grabbed one of the Women's Tag Team Title belts and proclaimed herself as Green's new tag team partner. This was Niven's first appearance on WWE TV since a win over Dana Brooke on the May 4 edition of WWE Main Event. The former Viper hadn't competed at all in a WWE ring since a loss to Becky Lynch at a house show in Newcastle upon Tyne, England on June 30.

Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville had been WWE Women's Tag Team Champions since defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the gold on the July 17 edition of Monday Night Raw. It emerged last week that Deville had suffered a torn ACL on the July 28 episode of SmackDown in her and Green's match with Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair.
