MVP has offered an update in regard to his ongoing knee injury, saying he is not yet fully healed but is trying to avoid undergoing surgery.

MVP sustained his knee injury on Raw back in February during a six-man tag team match that put him, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin against Riddle and Lucha House Party. The former United States champion appeared to blow out his knee and has incorporated a cane into his character ever since.

The 47-year-old has now revealed that, while he is on the mend, he isn't completely back to full fitness yet, taking part in an interview with WWE Espanol as he prepared to fly out to Houston, Texas, to undergo a procedure on his injury.

MVP told WWE Español's El Brunch de WWE: "I’m actually on my way back to Houston. As a matter of fact, I’ve got exclusive news just for you and the WWE Espanol viewers.

"As many of you know, my knee has been bothering me for a while now. While it is better, it hasn’t fully healed yet. We’ve been trying to avoid surgery, so we’re gonna try one more procedure. If that doesn’t work either, I might have to get some minor arthroscopic surgery for the knee but, not yet. We’re still gonna try another treatment first."
