The main draw for this week's edition of Monday Night Raw was the WWE Championship match between The Miz and Bobby Lashley and WWE made fans wait until the third hour before they witnessed a definitive match between the pair.

Raw opened with the return of Drew McIntyre and The Scottish Psychopath noted February had been a "b*tch of a month" for him. He recalled being betrayed by Sheamus and losing the WWE Title to The Miz after a beatdown from Lashley, but he said he had a clear vision of his future - win the WWE Championship and main event WrestleMania 37.

McIntyre was quickly interrupted by the WWE Champion, though, and Miz tried to convince The Scottish Psychopath that his animosity should be targeted at Bobby Lashley, not at him. The Miz then said he was a victim and claimed he had no choice but to make a deal with The Hurt Business after Lashley threatened to harm his family. This did nothing to convince Drew, however, and The Scottish Warrior just looked on in silence until MVP interrupted the proceedings. After a brief back and forth between Porter and McIntyre during which they called back to their previous storyline, MVP told Miz he would face Lashley at 9 pm ET.

The segment then had one final interruption as Sheamus entered the ThunderDome for his scheduled match with McIntyre and the two former friends started brawling around ringside before the bout got underway after a commercial break.

Sheamus and McIntyre continued their streak of quality matches in the opener and The Celtic Warrior had the upper hand for much of the 22-minute match, but McIntyre kept kicking out. Sheamus then thought he had the match won down the closing stretch as he set up for the Brogue Kick, but McIntyre saw it coming and connected with a Claymore just in the nick of time to defeat his former best friend.

The broadcast turned it's attention to the never-ending story between Nia Jax and Lana in the next segment and The Irresistible Force defeated Naomi in two minutes.

After this brief interlude, it was time for the WWE Championship match, but the camera cut backstage and showed The Miz grimacing in pain. The A-Lister told Adam Pearce he couldn't compete because he had stomach cramps and demanded more time. This only infuriated Lashley who manhandled Miz backstage and Pearce told the champion he would defend the gold at 10 pm ET.

Luckily for The Miz, he had miraculously recovered by the start of the third hour, but his fun and games still weren't over as he grabbed the WWE Title and hightailed it out of the ThunderDome after the championship match got underway, resulting in a quick count-out loss.

The A-Lister's antics further infuriated Lashley and MVP and after a discussion with Shane McMahon, The Boy Wonder booked another title match for the main event and revealed Miz would forfeit the belt to The All Mighty if he refused to compete.

The Miz did indeed wrestle in the final match on the show and Shane McMahon had another stipulation up his sleeve and announced the bout would now be a Lumberjack match. This didn't stop Miz from trying another trick to hold on to the gold, though, as he tried to deck Lashley with the title belt to draw the disqualification but The All Mighty blocked the move.

Lashley then proceeded to dominate the WWE Champion in the three-minute contest and he forced The Miz to tap out to the Hurt Lock.

With that, Lashley finally reached the top of the mountain in WWE at 44-years-old.

The WWE Title match wasn't Shane McMahon's only involvement on the show. His strange rivalry with Braun Strowman continued in the first hour after the former Universal Champion headed to the ring for a tag match and continued to whinge about not being in the Elimination Chamber. This ultimately brought out McMahon and Adam Pearce and after a brief back and forth, The Boy Wonder told Strowman he had to work with WWE management and announced he would team with Pearce in a Raw Tag Team Championship match against The Hurt Business.

WWE then showed the Raw tag team division was no match for The Monster Among Men as Braun bulldozed his way through Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin and had the match won after two minutes following a Running Powerslam to Shelton. Shane suddenly hopped on the apron before Strowman made the cover, though, and told him to tag in Pearce.

Strowman ultimately did what he was told and a stunned Pearce went to pin Benjamin, but the Hurt Business member suddenly countered into a roll-up for the 1-2-3.

Braun was apoplectic after the loss and The Monster Among Men looks destined to face Shane at The Showcase Of The Immortals, if not sooner.

Another match seemingly destined for WrestleMania 37 is Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka and The Queen announced on this week's show that she will challenge The Empress Of Tomorrow for the Raw Women's Championship once the champion returns from injury.

This declaration ultimately drew the ire of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax who claimed one of them should face Asuka at 'Mania. Their argument was quickly found wanting by the 12-time women's champion, however, and she pinned Baszler with Natural Selection after a three-minute match.

The road to WrestleMania also continued for Randy Orton and Alexa Bliss. A recap of Orton coughing up black bile on last week's show was shown during a backstage interview and The Viper said he doesn't know what happened, only that Alexa Bliss was involved.

Bliss appeared on the monitor inside a pentagram a few moments later and she told a jack-in-the-box to "bring it back." A possessed Orton then appeared on the monitor and Randy watched himself say he will come face to face with everything he has ever done. The non-possessed version of Orton then coughed up more bile while the possessed Randy cackled to end the segment.

Elsewhere on Raw, Damian Priest defeated Elias in a 15-minute match after Bad Bunny rejected The Drifter's offer to collaborate on a single. Mustafa Ali also has a claim to a United States Title match after he pinned Riddle following interference from RETRIBUTION. Riddle originally teamed with Lucha House Party to defeat Mace, T-Bar & Slapjack ahead of the singles match, but The Original Bro agreed to face Ali after the former SmackDown Hacker told his faction he would teach them a lesson.
