WWE Raw Results - August 2, 2021

WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Chicago, Illinois this week in front of a lively crowd at the Allstate Arena.

The flagship show on WWE programming was heavily influenced by the live audience who repeatedly chanted for hometown hero 'CM Punk', as has become the norm when WWE visits Chicago. Calls for Bray Wyatt, who was released on Saturday, were also heard throughout the show - particularly during the opening segment involving Goldberg - while chants of 'Becky Lynch' were also audible from the live crowd.

Away from the opinions of the fans in attendance, Goldberg's match with Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2021 was finally confirmed. The two had an intense stare-down and interaction to open the show before Lashley and MVP decided to introduce themselves to Goldberg's son at ringside. As expected, the WWE Hall Of Famer didn't take too kindly to this, spearing MVP on the ramp.

Later on, in a backstage segment, Lashley would finally accept Goldberg's challenge, saying he would annihilate him at SummerSlam.

A show otherwise rather void of any real storyline development saw Damian Priest reiterate his desire to take the United States Championship from Sheamus on Miz TV, Alexa Bliss and Lilly laughed at Eva Marie and got squished by Doudrop, and Karrion Kross was defeated on Raw. Yes, again.

Oh, and Raw Women's Champion Nikki A.S.H defeated Charlotte Flair in a No Holds Barred Match in the main event.
