During last night's TLC pay-per-view, WWE officially announced next year's edition of the Royal Rumble will stream live on the WWE Network on January 31. This will be the company's first pay-per-view of 2021.

Unless WWE suddenly moves out of the arena, Royal Rumble 2021 will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The company has broadcast all main roster programming from the home of the Tampa Bay Rays since the December 11 edition of SmackDown.

If fans will be in attendance at the first pay-per-view of 2021 is currently unknown. Recent reports noted WWE wants a decision to be made on if fans can attend by January 7 and the current odds are 50/50.

The 2020 Royal Rumble was one of the most memorable shows of the year. Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre won their respective Royal Rumble matches and Edge stepped in the ring for the first time in almost nine years. Elsewhere on the show, Becky Lynch defeated Asuka to retain the Raw Women's Championship, The Fiend vanquished Daniel Bryan in a Strap Match for the Universal Title, Bayley retained the SmackDown Women's Belt against Lacey Evans and Roman Reigns overcame King Corbin in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
