WWE Hall of Famer Pete Rose passed away on Monday, September 30. He was 83-years-old.

Pete Rose had a legendary playing career in baseball and he is the all-time leader in hits in Major League Baseball, playing for the likes of the Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, and Philadelphia Phillies from 1963 to 1986. Rose received a lifetime ban from baseball in 1989 after it was discovered he placed bets on baseball during his time as player-manager of the Cincinnati Reds.

Rose was featured on WWE programming in the late 1990s, appearing as the guest ring announcer for Kane vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 14 which led to him receiving a tombstone piledriver from Kane. Rose tried to exact revenge on Kane at the next two WrestleManias but failed on both occasions.

Rose was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2004, becoming the first person in the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame. Rose made WWE appearances following his Hall of Fame induction, including serving as a guest host of Monday Night Raw in 2010.
