The trademarks filed by WWE are often a good indication of their upcoming plans and commitment to certain wrestlers on the roster, and the promotion have filed three new trademarks for in-ring wrestler names.

The latest trademarks filed are for Shawn Spears, Berto, and Dijak. Spears recently returned to WWE in NXT after spending the last five years competing in AEW. Despite having the old ring name of Tye Dillinger, he arrived in NXT billed as “Shawn Spears”, and WWE have now filed for that trademark.

The former Humberto Carrillo was recently rebranded as “Berto” on WWE SmackDown when he aligned with Santos Escobar to become a member of the new-look Legado Del Fantasma. When it comes to Dijak, he has been competing under this ring name in NXT since way back in 2022, though it has taken until now for WWE to file a trademark for his ring name. He previously competed in WWE as both “T-Bar” and “Dominik Dijakovic”.

The following listings accompany these ring names.

“Trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
