WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Head of Communications Chris Legentil has stated that the company has been "compliant all the way along" with the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.

"I would say that related to active legal situations, there's clearly a limit on what we are able to say. But that said, as that investigation has gone on over time, we've been compliant all the way along and all the way through. And when we have the opportunity to answer questions, we do. And when there's not that opportunity, we don't. And the media we found have understood that because they realise that sometimes there's a lane we can take and other times there's not. But we agree that Brandon [Thurston] and John [Pollock] do good work. And, you know, you see them as regulars at our shows, at our press conferences, and they're doing their jobs as reporters and we're doing our job as the company," Legentil said on the Sports Media podcast.

WWE, along with Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis, are defendants in the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant in January 2024. Vince McMahon is accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse, while WWE are accused of trying to sweep the allegations against the former WWE CEO under the rug. John Laurinaitis is accused of sexual assault and the lawsuit also argues the NDA that Janel Grant signed with Vince McMahon is unenforceable, citing the Speak Out Act and the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000.

The lawsuit is currently paused until December 11 while attorneys for the Southern District of New York investigate allegations of sex trafficking and sexual misconduct against Vince McMahon stretching back to 1986. The latest update saw Vince McMahon file a motion to temporarily resume the lawsuit as he looks for the court to ban Janel Grant from using any materials obtained through a pre-action discovery petition against Dr Carlon Colker and Peak Wellness, Inc. within her lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.
