WWE COO Brad Blum Resigns
WWE COO Brad Blum resigns from the company
May 3, 2024
WWE Chief Operating Officer Brad Blum tendered his resignation on May 1, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Blum was reportedly not forced out of the company and it was his decision to resign.
Blum, along with Nick Khan and Paul "Triple H" Levesque, were considered the three most powerful executives within WWE and Blum had been a key strategic leader in the organisation. Blum joined WWE back in 2006 as Vince McMahon's Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff and he remained in that role until 2019.
Blum then became Executive Vice President of Operations until 2023 before he was promoted to WWE COO following the merger with UFC into TKO Group Holdings. His role saw Blum only report to Nick Khan and he oversaw "Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Creative Services, IT & Technology, Insights & Analytics, Real Estate & Facilities, and Corporate Travel."
Blum was previously revealed to be corporate officer no. 2 in the lawsuit Janel Grant filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. He was accused in the suit of facilitating and covering up exploitation that makes WWE liable under anti-trafficking laws in the United States.
The lawsuit claims that Blum and Nick Khan were presented as McMahon's key fixers to Janel Grant and they both voiced their concerns to McMahon about the nature of his relationship with Grant, asking if she "could be trusted." Both Khan and Blum were later supportive of the relationship.
Following the signing of the NDA, McMahon claimed to Grant that she could contact Blum if she ever needed anything.
