The WWE Championship match for WrestleMania 34 has been confirmed, after the result of tonight's six-man title match at Fastlane.

The bout saw WWE Champion AJ Styles defend his title against John Cena, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, and Baron Corbin - with the winner going on to face Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Earlier in the night, Nakamura defeated Rusev in singles action, before interrupting a backstage promo by Styles.

Styles went on to retain his title in the main event - pinning Owens after a Phenomenal Forearm and will wrestle Nakamura at 'Mania.

The bout is a rematch of their New Japan Pro Wrestling classic at Wrestle Kingdom 10, which took place shortly before both men left to sign with WWE. Nakamura won the bout, retaining his IWGP Intercontinental Championship in the process, and both shared a sign of mutual respect after the final bell.

Since Styles' debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble, and Nakamura's debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, there has been much speculation over the possibility of a rematch. This was escalated when both men shared a staredown during last year's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Styles won the title from Jinder Mahal on SmackDown towards the end of 2017, while Nakamura triumphed in this year's Rumble - last eliminating Roman Reigns to secure his place on the New Orleans card.

During tonight's main event, another WrestleMania match was teased after an altercation between Owens, Zayn, and SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon (who was ringside for the bout).
