WWE has announced "Women's Evolution Week", commemorating the five-year anniversary of when the Diva's/Women's Evolution began with the main-roster debuts of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks.
Wrote WWE, "Five years ago on July 13, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks arrived to Raw, signaling a change for women’s wrestling in WWE. In honor of this landmark night in sports-entertainment history, WWE will celebrate Women’s Evolution Week on its digital and social channels all this week.
"Check back with WWE’s digital platforms each day this week for exciting looks back at landmark Women’s division moments in WWE, the trailblazing Superstars who paved the way and what lies ahead for the intrepid female competitors of the future."
The rise of the Revolution led to a number of milestone moments over the ensuing five years, including the branding shift from "divas" to "women", women-exclusive gimmick matches (Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell), an all-women pay-per-view in October 2018 (Evolution), and a headline match at WrestleMania 35 the following year.
