Randy Orton made history at Survivor Series on Sunday, November 21 as he passed Kane for most WWE pay-per-view matches in history with his 177th bout. The Viper was on the card with his RK-Bro partner Riddle as they took on The Usos during WWE's last night of brand warfare.

The Viper would have to wrestle on every WWE pay-per-view for at least the next 10 years if he wants to break the overall record, though.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer, AJ Styles holds the record for most pay-per-view matches in wrestling history with 289 across shows for TNA, WWE and NJPW. The Phenomenal One's numbers are helped, though, by the fact TNA ran weekly pay-per-views from the company's launch in June 2002 until September 2004.

The sheer amount of early TNA pay-per-views also means James Storm is in second place with 228 pay-per-view matches, having also wrestled for NWA and NJPW.

If TNA, Ring Of Honor and NWA are excluded, Chris Jericho is at the top of the pile with 187 pay-per-view bouts for WWE, WCW, AEW and NJPW, something Le Champion was unaware of according to Meltzer. Undertaker would come in second place with 183 matches, with nine being added from his time in WCW. Paul Wight and Triple H are tied for third place with 180 each, while John Cena is fourth with 163.
