In a statement, PROGRESS Wrestling and TNT Extreme Wrestling have announced that Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson - the Swords of Essex - will be returning to the promotions following a "comprehensive investigation."

"Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson, also known as the Swords of Essex, will be returning to PROGRESS Wrestling and TNT Extreme Wrestling. After a comprehensive investigation in which both talent complied with all requests and after taking on board all feedback internally, both TNT Extreme Wrestling and PROGRESS Wrestling now look forward to welcoming back both talent as a team or as individuals to each respective promotion," the promotions wrote.

Ospreay has not performed in PROGRESS since the Swords of Essex dropped the promotion's tag team titles to Aussie Open in March 2019. Paul Robinson was previously a featured performer in PROGRESS until he was accused of sexual misconduct during the Speaking Out movement in 2020. He was later booked by PROGRESS for a set of tapings in February 2021 but the two sides parted ways soon after following a backlash to the booking.

Allegations have also been levied against Will Ospreay in the past, claiming he was partially responsible for blacklisting Pollyanna from pro wrestling. Ospreay has denied these allegations.

Ospreay stated in recent months that he would return to PROGRESS if the promotion booked Paul Robinson. Ospreay tweeted about his return: "After all the years we've been away, I'm so happy I can put aside any of the issues with PROGRESS & thanks to Lee, Martyn, Jay & all the Roster & Staff for their support in bringing us back. I cannot wait for myself & Paul Robinson to return to TNT & PROGRESS. Thank you so much."

PROGRESS has been under the ownership of Lee McAteer and Martyn Best since they bought the promotion from Jon Briley in December 2021. McAteer and Best bought TNT Extreme Wrestling in 2022.
