Vince McMahon is thought to currently be out of WWE creative, according to a report by Fightful Select.

The report comes in the wake of an apparent morale boost backstage, which Fightful attributes to "a line of thinking that Triple H is largely directing creative again, not Vince McMahon." PWInsider has stated the belief within WWE is that Endeavor have knighted Paul "Triple H" Levesque as head of WWE creative.

Fightful's report also clarifies that nobody they spoke to within WWE creative has worked with McMahon in 2023, but his changes were often felt from afar. He was said to have altered plans remotely, although WrestleMania is specified to have been an exception, with "significant, sweeping changes to the show."

These remote changes are now said to have stopped over the last few weeks, having become increasingly minimal in recent times. However, Fightful also report that the unanimous feeling among talent and staff is "I'll believe it when I see it" with regards to Vince being creatively gone for good.

The result of this, however, is a reported recent upswing in backstage morale. One Fightful source, a WWE higher-up, pointed to the September 25 episode of Raw as a starting point, citing the prominence and positive involvement of names like Johnny Gargano, Dragon Lee, Tegan Nox and Bronson Reed.

Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Vince McMahon has "backed off" when it comes to creative, although Vince still has the power to return to creative if he wishes to do so.

"Vince has backed off on creative for now. That's how it was described to me. For now he's backed off. He still has the power. If he wants to change something he will. But right now he's pretty much backed off on that. What you're seeing right now what I was told is 95% Paul Levesque. He's [Vince] still around and there's probably going to be input when it comes to main event programmes and things like that going forward. But right now it is mostly the Paul Levesque show," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
