Updated NJPW Super Jr. Tag League Standings
Who will win the league?
Aug 16, 2021
Round four of Super Junior Tag League took place at Korakuen Hall today and three teams could emerge with the trophy depending on tomorrow's results.
One match on today's show did not take place, though, as Shingo Takagi and BUSHI came down with a fever over the weekend and they were pulled from the event. As a result, six wrestlers, including Gedo and Dick Togo, were pulled from the show due to contact tracing and the Bullet Club team forfeited their Super Junior Tag League match against Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato.
Two tag league matches did take place on today's show and the two undefeated teams in El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori and Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask faced off in the first match. It was the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions who came away with the win after ELP decked Tiger Mask with a Loaded Sudden Death and Ishimori applied the Bone Lock to the six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru then faced Roppongi 3K in the main event and the Suzuki-gun team picked up the win after SHO turned on his tag team partner, YOH. The five-time tag team champions had struggled throughout the tournament and SHO finally had enough and abandoned his partner. This allowed Despe to decimate YOH with a Pinche Loco for the victory.
After the match, SHO hit YOH with a Shock Arrow and walked over his head to end their friendship.
With today's results in the bag, three teams can still win the league during tomorrow's final round. Check out the standings below:
