All Elite Wrestling pulled their latest surprise out of the bag on the May 24 edition of Dynamite, when ECW icon Sabu made his debut for the company, assisting Adam Cole and Roderick Strong during Cole’s contract signing with Chris Jericho.

Sabu is set to be in Cole’s corner as an official enforcer when Cole and Jericho meet in an Unsanctioned Match at Double or Nothing on May 28, but AEW President Tony Khan has revealed that the former ECW World Champion's appearance will just be a one-off for now:

“I think it would likely be a one-off appearance,” Tony Khan said during the pre-Double or Nothing media call. “A lot of fans were excited to see Sabu. I don’t think he’s going to be somebody regularly stepping into the ring to compete. But under the right circumstances, if this goes well, then potentially he could come back and make other guest appearances. I think overall very positively received, him coming in and making a surprise appearance.

“So I’d be open to him coming back, but it’s not something I see as a regular occurrence either. It was a very special moment to see Sabu. I got a text from my dad this morning saying, ‘Sabu, blast from the past’ because my dad actually took me to see Sabu wrestle when I was 13 years old, and the match we saw him in, the first time I ever saw Sabu wrestle was Sabu versus Chris Jericho, and it was the only time they ever wrestled. And now there’ll be both out in the same ring, and Sabu will be the special enforcer for the unsanctioned match. Adam Cole versus Chris Jericho, and I thought it was a very cool full circle moment.”
