Update On CM Punk Potentially Doing WWE NXT Commentary

CM Punk has made a living at proving he is the best ‘in this ring, on the mic, even on commentary’, but could the controversial former WWE Champion could be set to return to the latter?

Punk’s close friend Ace Steel recently revealed to the Steel City Podcast that he believed Punk could join the NXT commentary team whilst out injured, but a report from Fightful Select says this has not been considered by NXT, with Steel’s suggestion merely that; a suggestion.

With Booker T out of action for a few weeks following surgery, it seemed as though Punk could slot right into the announce team, but Byron Saxton is set to fill Booker’s role until he is cleared to return to work.

Punk memorably had several stints as part of WWE Raw’s commentary team during his initial run in the company, and has done MMA commentary on several occasions over the past few years.

‘The Second City Saint’ was set to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at the upcoming WrestleMania XL event, but suffered a triceps injury during the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble match.
