The Undertaker has apologised to Chris Jericho on Twitter after inadvertently stealing his catchphrase on WWE TV.

The lighthearted exchange came about after Undertaker's promo on this week's episode of Raw, in which he referred to WrestleMania opponent AJ Styles as an 'assclown'. Jericho has used the word throughout his career when insulting a rival.

It began when a fan tweeted Jericho saying: 'BIG lawsuit incoming for @undertaker's use of "assclown".'

Jericho replied: 'Hardly! He's the @undertaker...he can use as many of my catch phrases as he wants!!!' Undertaker was quick to apologise for his use of the phrase, tweeting: 'My bad @IAmJericho...I knew I had heard that somewhere before...'

Jericho is of course now a key part of the AEW roster, but after recent fiery exchanges between wrestlers on opposite sides of the divide (such as Braun Strowman and Lance Archer) it's refreshing to see a pair of veterans maintain a lighthearted friendship online.

Undertaker is set to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 this weekend, in a mysterious 'Boneyard match' - one of several matches at 'Mania thought to have been given special treatment in terms of location and production. Both nights of WrestleMania were taped last week, but will air this weekend on April 4th and 5th.
