UFC President Dana White Claims Brock Lesnar Is Retired From UFC

Ever since their in-cage confrontation at UFC 226 last July, Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar looked to be on a collision course. Hype for a theoretical fight between the two had run off and on in the ten months since.

That all appears to have gone up in smoke as of Tuesday, as UFC President

regarding Lesnar, "He told me he's done. He's retired."

Lesnar has not fought since UFC 200 in July 2016, when he defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision, his first fight back after a near five-year layoff. The result was later overturned into a no-contest, due to Lesnar testing positive for clomiphene.

At the time of Lesnar's confrontation with Cormier at UFC 226, he had begun the process of re-entering the mandated USADA drug-testing pool. Recent reports indicated that a date in August 2019 had been targeted for a Cormier-Lesnar Heavyweight title fight.

Lesnar officially ends his MMA career with five wins, three losses, and the aforementioned no-contest. He reigned as UFC Heavyweight champion from November 2008 to October 2010.
