July 4 was a day of title wins for Bullet Club during night one of NJPW STRONG Independence Day at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall.

The stable has seen an expansion in recent weeks and new Bullet Club members Alex Coughlin and Gabe Kidd picked up tag team gold as they defeated Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI of Bishamon to win the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships. The Bullet Club Wardogs scored the win following a Double Muscle Buster and a Piledriver to YOSHI-HASHI.

The two teams will face off again tomorrow during night two of NJPW STRONG Independence Day for the IWGP Tag Team Championships. The Wardogs attacked Bishamon following today's match as they looked to gain an advantage for the July 5 clash.

Bullet Club then picked up more gold later in the show as Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney overcame Francesco Akira and TJP of Catch 2/2 to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. The Bullet Club team scored the victory following a Top Rope Spear to TJP.

TJP and Francesco Akira had been in their second reign as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions but today's loss ends their time with the belts after just 30 days. Bishamon had also only been NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions for 30 days, with both teams having won their respective titles at Dominion on June 4.
