Triple H has tweeted a short video hyping the six-man ladder match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, in which the new NXT North American Championship has been revealed. The belt appears to be red, and has a distinctly old-school look about it.

In the video, Triple H proclaims:

'Six men will step into the ring in a ladder match with this hanging above them: the NXT North American Championship. One man will make history. One man will climb the ladder into the record books. One man will forever be remembered as the first NXT North American Champion.'

The inaugural champion will be decided this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. The six men competing in the ladder match are EC3, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, and Ricochet.

Several other matches have been confirmed for the show at various NXT tapings, although not all have yet been revealed on an episode of NXT itself.

Those which have been booked on air include an NXT Championship match between Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Aleister Black, and an 'Unsanctioned match' between former tag partners Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.

The latter also comes with an additional stipulation. Should Gargano win, he will be reinstated as an NXT Superstar. Should he lose, he will never be allowed to return to the brand.

NXT TakeOver shows are usually met with high critical acclaim, and this edition is also being tipped to impress by many online. The last TakeOver saw Gargano and Almas put on the first WWE match to be rated five stars by Dave Meltzer in over six years.
