Following a reported change in policy from Warner Bros. Discovery, Mark Briscoe will make his All Elite Wrestling debut on the January 25 episode of Dynamite. The ROH World Tag Team Champion will celebrate the life and legacy of his brother Jay Briscoe when he goes one-on-one with Jay Lethal on what would have been Jay Briscoe's birthday.

The Briscoes had been banned from AEW TV by Warner Bros. Discovery due to past homophobic remarks from Jay Briscoe in 2013 and that policy reportedly didn't change after Jay's tragic passing on January 17. Warner Bros. Discovery then reportedly rescinded the ban on Tuesday, with Tony Khan announcing the Mark Briscoe vs. Jay Lethal match.

Speaking about Mark's match on Dynamite during an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Tony Khan noted that he "fought hard" to get the ROH World Tag Team Champion on AEW TV.

"It's going to be a great match to honour a great man. These two men requested this match. Wednesday would be the 39th birthday of the late, great Jay Briscoe. His longtime friend and rival, Jay Lethal, and his brother, Mark Briscoe, wanted to have this match to honour the legacy of Jay Briscoe and I fought hard to make it happen and I'm really excited about the match," Khan said.

"I believe it's going to be a great one and it's great that they're going to be able to honour the legacy of somebody that everybody in pro wrestling has so much respect for, the great Jay Briscoe, on his 39th birthday. With everything happening, this is going to be something really great for everybody in the locker room who is rallying around the Briscoe family."

Jay Briscoe passed away on January 17 following a head-on car accident. His two daughters, who were in the car with him, are continuing to recover in hospital.
