Tony Khan has revealed how he pushed back on All Elite Wrestling installing a video wall during the COVID-19 Pandemic, similar to how WWE created The ThunderDome.

AEW utilised other wrestlers to become the in-attendance audience during Dynamite shows in the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, a move that provided a live atmosphere and was widely praised across the world of wrestling.

WWE began using The ThunderDome concept in August 2020, again to wide praise, and Khan has revealed how the idea for a similar set-up in Daily's Place had been suggested.

However, the AEW CEO was personally against using the screens.

Speaking in a recent interview with UPI.com, Khan said: "I didn’t want to have a video wall, and I pushed back when I got pushed to do a video wall.

"It was a fine idea and WWE did it, but it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I respect it, it’s good and it’s economical, but I wanted to continue to find a way to do the shows for the fans every week. And the fans at Daily’s Place supported us. We built like a wrestling territory having a weekly audience. I’m really proud of that."
