Issues between WWE and Peacock have left an animated comedy series made in collaboration with Stone Cold Steve Austin in development hell.

Comedian Dan Soder revealed on Barstool Radio that he and Dan St. German wrote an animated show with Stone Cold Steve Austin that was then sold to Peacock. Discussions between Peacock and WWE have left the show "on the sidelines" for 17 months, though.

"Some bullsh*t right now and me saying publicly will kind of push it through, or I'll just completely f*ck the deal. But at this point, I don't give a f*ck. During the pandemic, Dan St. Germain and I wrote a show with Stone Cold Steve Austin that was a cartoon, and we sold it to Peacock. But now WWE and Peacock are bullsh*tting. It's been 17 months on the sidelines, and I keep calling these motherf*ckers, being like, 'This is gonna be f*cking funny,' and Stone Cold is like way on board. We've developed the show with him, not with WWE," Soder said.

"I used to get Stone Cold calling me. Dude, Stone Cold is in my phone, and he would call me...It's dark and weird [the project]. That's why Stone Cold liked it. He was like, 'Y'all are funny as hell, man.' He's the f*cking man. He would just be calling. 'I was shooting sniper rifles, so what's going on?'"

WWE and Peacock have worked closely together since NBCUniversal acquired the rights to the WWE Network in the United States in 2021. All WWE Network content is now available on Peacock, including the company's pay-per-views.
