Steve Austin Reveals He Was Drinking Beers During WWE WrestleMania 38 Match Because He Was Gassed

During his Attitude Era run in WWE, Stone Cold Steve Austin was known for enjoying a beer or six after a hard earned victory, with the Texas Rattlesnake’s beer-bashes going down in WWE folklore.

When Austin returned to the ring to face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, Stone Cold once again had a couple of Steveweisers, including a mid-match beer break, and according to Austin himself on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, he needed a beer because he was gassed:

"It was what it was," said Austin on his match with Kevin Owens. "I wanted to give them more, but the whole time, when you have that amount of people out there, I've been in front of a million crowds, but you're trying to pace yourself. When you saw me go sip beers, I wasn't doing that to advertise my beer, I was doing that to take a breather and kind of monitor the system because I was getting a little gassed. You don't want to go out there and freak out. I was taking those opportunities to slow down and catch a breather."

WWE WrestleMania 38 was Austin’s first WWE match since his loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 19.
