Stephanie McMahon will join the announce team to call the first ever women's Royal Rumble match.

The match - which is set to take place at Sunday's Royal Rumble pay per view - was also first announced by Stephanie on the December 18th edition of Monday Night Raw.

The names currently confirmed for the landmark 30-woman match are as follows:

Sasha Banks

Bayley

Becky Lynch

Asuka

Naomi

Ruby Riott

Liv Morgan

Sarah Logan

Natalya

Mandy Rose

Sonya Deville

Carmella

Tamina

Lana

Mickie James

Nia Jax

Alicia Fox

Dana Brooke

This leaves 12 unannounced spots, which will surely mean that we'll see surprises in the form of some current NXT roster members, returning legends, and perhaps even competitors from last year's Mae Young Classic.

Elsewhere on the card, we will also see the traditional 30-man men's Royal Rumble match. Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship will be on the line in a triple threat bout against Braun Strowman and Kane.

The WWE Championship will be defended by AJ Styles, who takes on both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a handicap match.

Both sets of tag titles will also be on the line. Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan will defend against Sheamus and Cesaro, while Jimmy and Jey Uso are set to defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship in a two-out-of-three falls match against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin.

In terms of potential winners in the women's Royal Rumble match, Asuka has been the favourite of many online - especially given her strong push in both NXT and on the Raw roster. However, various news sources have reported that Ronda Rousey could well enter the Rumble, having met with Triple H recently with a view to signing a WWE contract. Although she has minimal professional wrestling experience, the former UFC Champion has been training with a future career in mind.
