While CM Punk would make his full-time return to professional wrestling in August 2021 with All Elite Wrestling, The Second City Saviour secretly appeared under a mask at an indie show in 2019, during his seven-year hiatus from the industry.

It emerged at the time that Punk, wearing a mask, interfered during a match at Silas Young's MKE promotion, hitting Daryck St. Holmes with the Go To Sleep before quickly leaving the building.

Speaking with Fightful Select recently, Silas Young revealed Punk was at a nearby jiu-jitsu tournament and the MKE show was at an arena Punk had wrestled in during the early portion of his career. Young noted he reached out to Ace Steel and Dave Prazak about getting people who had previously worked in the building on the show as it was due to be shut down.

This information ultimately trickled back to Punk and the former WWE Champion appeared on the show even though he never spoke to Young personally.

On the moment, The Last Real Man said: "What am I going to say, 'No, Punk can't get on the show?'"
