Ronda Rousey will believe Vince McMahon is actually gone from WWE when she sees it.
Speaking to Cageside Seats while promoting her upcoming memoir, Our Fight, Rousey once again claimed that Vince McMahon was still involved with WWE through Bruce Prichard during McMahon's brief retirement from July 2022 until January 2023. Rousey then stated she will only believe McMahon is definitely gone from WWE when she sees it.
"He was never gone while I was there. He was just phoning it in through Bruce Prichard. My agent who works at WME (Endeavor), he was telling me, 'You know, he's completely gone now, I swear.' And I'm like, I'll believe it when I see it, because everyone said he left before. He never left. He was there by text message," Rousey stated.
Rousey has heavily criticised WWE and Vince McMahon in recent weeks, as well as John Laurinaitis who she accused of acting like a "60-year-old frat boy" while in the company. Rousey had two runs in WWE from January 2018 until her departure in August 2023.
Rousey was previously critical of Bruce Prichard, tweeting: "Bruce Prichard is basically Vince’s avatar, if he’s still around Vince still has a hand in the business. Vince was still running things through Bruce when he was 'gone' before."
Vince McMahon has not been involved with the day-to-day running of WWE since he resigned as TKO Executive Chairman in January. This came after former WWE employee Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse in a lawsuit that also named John Laurinaitis and WWE as defendants.
Vince McMahon remains a major shareholder in TKO, owning eight per cent of the company.
