On SmackDown’s debut with the USA Network last night, the show opened with a big Undisputed WWE Championship steel cage match, in which Cody Rhodes managed to outlast Solo Sikoa. After the match, he was ambushed by The Bloodline members which brought out a returning Roman Reigns, who cleared the ring. A face-off was teased with Jacob Fatu, but Sikoa brought an end to that moment.

Later in the night, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis revealed that he had drawn up a contract for a tag team match at Bad Blood 2024, pitting Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes against Jacob Fatu & Solo Sikoa. Rhodes appeared and said he wasn’t interested in signing the contract, stating that his issues with The Bloodline were at an end.

To close the show, Roman Reigns emerged and took to the mic for the first time since before WrestleMania 40. Reigns declared this was still “his WWE”, before throwing the Bad Blood contract to the side, stating that he doesn’t need it. Rhodes came out to make the claim that it was no longer Reigns’ company. Before anything could escalate, The Bloodline came out once again, and Rhodes helped Reigns clear the ring and stand tall. Reigns picked up the contract, signed it, and then Rhodes finally gave in and asked for the contract too, making the tag team match official.

This will be Reigns’ first match since WrestleMania 40. Reigns is also currently advertised for the Survivor Series event.
