A Ring Of Honor championship will be on the line on next week's edition of AEW Dark.

Tony Nese picked up a win over JDX in a Pure Rules Match on Tuesday's episode of Dark and Mark Sterling issued a challenge to ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta on The Premier Athlete's behalf following the win. Yuta accepted the challenge, saying no one could touch him in a Pure Rules match before he directed his attention to Blood & Guts, which will take place on next week's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Yuta has been ROH Pure Champion since defeating Josh Woods for the gold at Supercard Of Honor on April 1, over WrestleMania weekend. The Blackpool Combat Club member has only defended the title once since then, picking up a win over Woods in a rematch on Dark.

Yuta's match against Tony Nese was taped at the promotion's recent Dark taping in Orlando, Florida on June 11.

Ring Of Honor reintroduced the Pure Title back in October 2020, with Jonathan Gresham winning a tournament to become the eighth Pure Champion in the promotion's history.
