Fresh from his WWE release, ‘Road Dogg’ Brian (Jesse) James has seemingly started pondering his future in the wrestling business.
After taking to Twitter to comment on his recent release from his role backstage with WWE NXT, James was asked by a fan if he plans on joining former New Age Outlaws partner Billy Gunn in AEW, to which James replied:
“This light bill ain’t gonna pay itself!”
After James’ WWE release in 2001 he made his way to TNA, with Gunn following suit in 2005. The two reformed as a team in TNA under the name The James Gang before reverting to the name Voodoo Kin Mafia - a riff on Vincent Kennedy McMahon’s initials.
Gunn has been part of AEW since January 2019, working as a coach and on-air talent, teaming with his sons Austin and Colten as The Gunn Club. Whilst employed by AEW, Gunn was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame with James, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and X-Pac as D-Generation X, with Michaels and Triple H famously making remarks about Gunn working with AEW.
