A number of professional wrestlers in WWE currently sport tattoos when competing inside the ring, including Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and The Undertaker, with most of their bodywork having been inked while competing inside the squared circle for the company.

WWE is seemingly still exercising its prerogative when letting Superstars show tattoos on-screen, however, as NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley revealed in a recent interview with

Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT

that the company has not cleared her to have any tattoos on her upper body. She explained this is the reason she wears pants, as it means she can get as many tattoos as she wants on her legs without WWE being able to stop her.

Ripley said: "My dream since being a little girl is to be the most tattooed human ever. I just love tattoos, I don't know why. I've always loved them. But, unfortunately for me, WWE isn't clearing my upper body (for tattoos). That's why I wear pants. I got pants so I wouldn't have to clear my tattoos because you can't see them. I'm trying to finish my leg sleeves, then hopefully I can convince people to let me get my arm sleeves and other stuff, but we'll see how that goes."
