Although a babyface as part of Alpha Academy on WWE TV, Maxxine Dupri was heavily booed following a WWE house show match in Oakland, California on February 17 that saw her lose to Nia Jax. One fan even shouted, "You suck Maxxine, don't come back."

The boos from those in attendance largely went unnoticed until a Maxxine Dupri fan on X (FKA Twitter) posted a clip of the incident with the caption: "This poor girl is getting booed at a house show for trying to get better.. wrestling fans suck."

Reaction to the incident was split online but Dupri's colleagues have rallied to her defence, with Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley tweeting: "I really wish that some of you got booed and ridiculed in the public eye while being new at your job. Learning and getting better is all apart of being human. Be better as humans."

Chelsea Green then wrote: "Couldn't have said it any better."

Ivy Nile also posted: "All she ever wanted is to be better for YOU guys and this is how you respond. Unbelievable. Keep you doing you Big Maxx, so many more of us support you."

Zelina Vega meanwhile replied: "This is absolutely horrible. She doesn't deserve that. She's such a kind soul and works really hard. I would love if the bad parts of the biz don't harden her heart. They probably just mad cuz they can't drink your bath water Maxine."

The likes of Becky Lynch, Raquel Rodriguez, and AEW's Britt Baker also expressed support for Dupri.

Some on X have defended the boos, however, arguing that fans who have paid to attend a show are allowed to react in any way they decide. Others have also stated that WWE has a Performance Center where talents can train without being exposed to boos at house shows.
