WWE saving Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns hadn't been involved in a programme since his win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 but that changed on Friday's taped edition of SmackDown as the WWE Universal Champion began a feud with Drew McIntyre.
The two talents won't face off at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view, though, and WWE have scrapped a planned tag team title unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos and added McIntyre and Reigns to the contest to make it a six-man tag.
WWE seemingly had the main event picture in mind when they made the change and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the six-man tag was booked so Reigns vs. McIntyre could be saved for a bigger pay-per-view.
"The idea was to save Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre singles match, as far as the pay-per-view version, for a bigger show," Meltzer said.
Which pay-per-view the WWE Universal Title match will take place at remains to be seen. WWE's next pay-per-view is Hell In A Cell on June 5, though, so McIntyre and Reigns' first title match may well be inside the steel structure.
