More information has come to light regarding the ending of the 2022 men's Royal Rumble match.

It has already been reported that the match ultimately led to Shane McMahon leaving the company, after he upset the locker room with his conduct while helping put the match together as one of the producers assigned to it.

Shane was reportedly upset that his ideas weren't used and had intended to build the match around himself.

Something else added to Shane's woes on the night and left him displeased with another WWE star.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the order of entry got mixed up late on, meaning that Shane and Randy Orton swapped numbers.

Orton was supposed to be entrant number 28 and was ready to walk through the curtain when McMahon's music hit. Per the report, Shane was upset at the 'verbal cue' Orton sent indicating that he wouldn't be going out.

That verbal cue was, evidently, The Viper bursting into uncontrollable laughter and rolling around on the ground.

Thankfully, he was able to compose himself and enter next at number 29, lasting just a couple of minutes before being eliminated.

The report states that the reaction was seen as being in good fun after what had been a hectic day.
