Report: WWE Releases Talent Development VP Canyon Ceman
Following a nine-year tenure
Jul 24, 2021
Canyon Ceman, WWE's Vice President of Talent Development for the last six years, has been let go from the company, as reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider (with corroboration from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful).
It was reported several weeks ago that Ceman had been let go from WWE, but those reports were erroneous at the time.
Sapp wrote today of the new report, "The wheels were already in motion and there was fire where there was smoke."
Dave Meltzer added, regarding the earlier reports, "When the Ceman story broke some time ago and was denied, it was pretty much said by insiders at the company that the story was basically true, but it was then held up and would take time to play out."
Ceman joined with WWE in 2012. He was hired to be the senior director of talent relations before he became VP of Talent Development in 2015.
In his time with WWE, Ceman was involved with recruiting and scouting for WWE's developmental system, and helped oversee NXT operations.
Prior to WWE, Ceman (a former pro volleyball player) worked as chief financial officer for the Association of Volleyball Professionals.
